01 — Why we built this

You pay Crunchbase for last month's news. Form D is this morning's.

Most sales-ops and partner-dev teams don't need the institutional database. They need the leading indicator — in their inbox, filtered to their vertical, priced as an expense-line.

FormDFlow turns the raw EDGAR feed into a filtered, vertical-tagged digest in your inbox, Slack channel, or Teams — same day the filing is public.

No XBRL to parse, no dashboard to remember to open, no procurement cycle. From $149 a month. Cancel anytime.

  • 01

    PitchBook is sized for funds

Starts near $25,000/yr per seat — institutional pricing for institutional data.

  • 02

    Crunchbase prints last month's news

Crunchbase Pro at $99–499/mo reports private rounds 15–30 days after Form D hits EDGAR.

  • 03

    EDGAR is a firehose

SEC EDGAR's raw RSS is unfiltered: 3,000–5,000 filings every week across every sector and stage.

  • 04

    DIY becomes operational debt

Writing your own EDGAR parser is a weekend project, then a permanent burden — every schema change, every retry queue, forever.

02 — How it works

From SEC filing to your inbox in under 24 hours.

No spreadsheets to scrape, no XBRL to parse, no dashboard to remember to open.

Step 01

Set your filters

Tell us the verticals, geographies, offering-size bands, and stages you care about. Save as many filters as your tier allows.

Step 02

We scan EDGAR nightly

Our pipeline polls SEC EDGAR at 01:00 UTC, parses the XBRL of every new Form D, and tags each with a controlled vocabulary of verticals and stage inferences.

Step 03

Digest hits at 06:00 ET

Only the filings matching your saved filters land in your morning email, Slack channel, or Microsoft Teams. Each links to the full SEC record.

Step 04

Reach out before noon

By the time Crunchbase indexes the round 15–30 days later, you've already had a conversation with the CFO. That's the leading-indicator edge.

03 — What you get

Six things, done properly.

Every feature ships because a customer asked for it — no kitchen-sink dashboard, no half-shipped beta tabs.

01

Filter by vertical, geo, size, stage

“Series A climate-tech under $8Min California” returns three to five perfectly targeted leads per week instead of the five-hundred-row SEC firehose.

02

Plain-English summaries

Each filing gets a one-sentence summary of the issuer, the raise, and the context. Attribution to the source SEC document is always one click away.

03

Slack, email, or Teams

Pipe filings straight into your BDR Slack channel, Microsoft Teams, or inbox. No one has to log into another dashboard.

04

Compare side-by-side

Stack offering sizes, exemption types, signatories, and related persons across up to five filings at once. Pattern recognition without a spreadsheet.

05

Searchable web directory

Every filing also gets an enriched, structured directory page you can deep-link into from your own tools, your CRM notes, or a Notion brief.

06

Read-only REST API Q3 2026 roadmap

Agency tier will unlock programmatic access with generous rate limits for intel platforms, CRM enrichment pipelines, and internal tooling.

07 — FAQ

Questions we get a lot.

Plain answers. If something isn't here, get in touch.

How fresh is the data?
Our ingestion worker polls SEC EDGAR every night at 01:00 UTC. Filings that land during business hours show up in the next morning's digest — typically within 12-18 hours of the SEC publishing them. Instant Fire Alerts — a planned Agency-tier feature on our Q3 2026 roadmap — will push matches within minutes once they ship.
How does this differ from PitchBook or Crunchbase?
PitchBook is an institutional-grade deal database starting around $25,000/year — built for fund analysts, not sales-ops. Crunchbase Pro ($99-499/mo) is broader but typically reports private rounds 15-30 days after the underlying Form D hits EDGAR. FormDFlow is narrower: Form-D-first, filtered alerts, from $149/mo. We're a line-item complement to those tools, not a replacement.
Isn't SEC EDGAR data already free?
Yes. The raw filings are public-domain federal disclosures; we don't own them. What you're paying for is the pipeline: nightly ingestion, parsing, vertical-and-stage classification, filter matching, digest delivery, and the web directory. If you have a Python developer and a weekend, you can build a subset of this yourself — and then maintain it forever. Most of our customers would rather pay $149.
What filters are available?
Filter by vertical (climate, fintech, healthtech, SaaS, dev-tools, biotech, consumer, industrial, and roughly fifteen more), geography (state or metro), offering size band, stage inference, exemption type (506(b) / 506(c) / 504), and a free-text keyword match against issuer name. Combine as many as you need per saved filter.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. All self-serve plans are month-to-month. Cancel from your account page — no phone call, no retention team. You keep access through the end of your current billing period.
Do you have API access?
A read-only REST API for pull access is on our Q3 2026 roadmap and isn't available yet. When it ships, it'll carry generous rate limits suitable for intel-platform enrichment, CRM integrations, and internal tooling. A write API is not planned.
Is this investment advice?
No. FormDFlow is a data and alerting service that surfaces public SEC filings with added filtering and tagging. Nothing in our product, emails, directory, or website constitutes investment advice, a recommendation to buy or sell any security, or an offer of investment-advisory services. We are not registered as an investment adviser under the Investment Advisers Act of 1940.
What filings are included?
We ingest Form D and Form D/A filings — the disclosures that private U.S. companies file with the SEC when raising capital under Regulation D exemptions (primarily 506(b), 506(c), and 504). Amendments update the original filing rather than creating duplicates in your feed.
